Frank Chimero gives an interesting perspective on thinking like a web designer and the limits and possibilities of the format. As a beginner to web design, concepts like vertical bias for the web and hierarchy of elements on a webpage is something to note for my work in the future.

Chimero’s example with David Hockney gave me an interesting perspective on how to visualize thumbnails for the web. I often think of the web as being confined within the screen, and not as a limitless plane. Hockney’s work helped me to visualize the concept of edgelessness in web design, going with the ocean motif he carried through the article. Additionally, his final remark on the web’s personal utility in your life in a world where you can be completely immersed in tech I felt was especially relevant to my life.
