CSS Zen Garden Critiques
First, I chose to take a look at Brandon Sharp’s Papercraft Space CSS Zen Garden project (link below). I really vibed with the aesthetic of the homemade paper assets. All but the sun (to me, at least) were layered in a way that made them super fun to look at. One draw about this site to me was the padding in between each text box. I felt like it led to some unnecessary scrolling. Also, the headers and the text itself isn’t perfectly space within its box. The font may be a bit too thin for the pattern in the background, too.
The next website I chose is the Flow Festival website from the responsive website resource tab (link below). I like the font and the color choices used in the website. There is a bit of a hierarchy issue. All the text tends to be the same size, and there aren’t clear labels as to what section of items I’m looking at. As a fully responsive website, I like how the programmers had the website fit in any format. Although there isn’t a lineup of musicians and artists yet, I would hope that would take up a good portion of the site’s attention when there is.
